Level It partners with Chelsea Gaddy of Force/Collide to bring you an exclusive tour, demo, and look inside of a woman-owned and operated metal design and fabrication shop.
In this three-hour workshop, Chelsea will lead a discussion about metal-fabrication foundations, using shop tools and equipment to demonstrate concepts. Learn about basic shop safety, tools and equipment, different types of metals and finishing methods, methods of cutting, grinding, bending and joining metal, and gain an understanding about the different types of welding (oxy acetylene, MIG and TIG), when and why to use them.
In addition to the demo and shop tour Chelsea will share her story of breaking into metal fabrication and some of the advantages and challenges of owning and operating her own business. We’ll discuss local resources for getting started in metal fabrication and pathways into the field.
This class will include interactive demonstrations on a magnetic brake to bend and manipulate your own piece of steel and various other hand-tools. This class will not include hands-on welding opportunities.
If you have ever been curious about getting started in metal fabrication, this workshop is for you!
Enrollment for this workshop is open to those 18 and older.

A friendly reminder that Level It workshops are intended to serve our woman-identified community, a greatly under-represented voice in our field.
